Staging the Hallways, Closets and Laundry Room | Day 24 of 30-Day Home Staging Challenge
The three spaces we’re talking about today, the hallway, closets and the laundry room are usually pretty much ignored. But hallways are actually important because they connect different areas of the house and have you ever been to a hospital that has a terrible lit and super white hallway? It makes you feel terrible and dreadful, right?
With closets, we usually treat it like a catch-all. We just chuck everything inside. If we’re having a party and we’re behind on cleaning, we pretty much just cram everything in in a panic when friends and family are coming over. Or it’s a catch-all for everything. But the thing is that buyers are going to open up your closets and all of your built in storage areas to see how much space they will have. They know that with furniture, that’s going to move with you, so that doesn’t matter for them. But with closets, that’s a different story. Also, on today’s show, we are going to talk about the laundry room as well. One of the things I remember working as a real estate agents is that people who live in the city moving into the suburbs are always super excited to have a laundry room in their house, especially if they lived in an apartment in the city where they have to carry all the laundry four floors up and down to get laundry down, or having to go to a laundromat to do laundry. While it’s not going to make or break your sale, it is nice that if the laundry room is still presented to its best potential just like the rest of your house.
On today’s show, we are going to talk about
- Staging the hallway
- Staging the closets
- Staging the laundry room
- Staging inspirations for you
