Creative DIY Holiday Decor
I LOVE the holidays! It is such a fun time. I love that it’s a peaceful time to spend with my family and catch up with old friends, it is also a very hopeful, energetic time! It is a great time to look back a great year and all the good things that had happened, it is a time where we honker down, wrap up the year and preparing for the new.
I personally did not grow up in a household celebrating Christmas, so it’s pretty funny that for work, all we do during holidays times are holiday decor! I think the holidays is really a magical time to make creative, DIY gifts & displays for your home or office space. You can also add some creative flair when you wrap up gifts for family and friends.
HERE ARE SOME AWESOME HOLIDAY DECORS THAT YOU CAN TOTALLY DO IT YOURSELF:
I love wreaths, I think they are magical. You can create so many different variations and moods with one single wreath. And it’s easy. You can make wreaths out of everything: garden pickings, fruits you have in the pantry, and even straws.
Who doesn’t love some gold dipped feathers and a good holiday party? The blog also shows a great tutorial for gold dipped votives.
I am a bit wreath obsessed. Probably because I spend a lot of time during holiday seasons making wreaths of all kinds for clients
I love these because they are so easy to make and you can make them according to your party or decor themes. It is also different than the standard ornaments that you get at big box stores. I have also made card stock paper prisms/ geometric ornaments with templates I downloaded from the internet. It was really fun to do. Also this is something that you can involve kids with.
I always love a little bit of green for decorating and staging. You can use your garden cuttings, herbs (like a sprig of rosemary), and even bits of ribbons as the decorative element when you wrap gifts. The best part about using herbs or flowers is the amazing smell when your friends receive the gift!
I love the styling and the display here by the TOMKAT studio. It’s really well done. I especially love how she layered various textures and decor elements to create a multi-layered festive display.
